Summer Gymnastics Classes

Pre-School Classes

For our little gymnasts we emphasize fun and safety.  Learning is accomplished through organized and focused fun.

We have gymnastics classes for 3 years old and up.  Classes for 3 to 5 year olds are focused on mastering gross motor skills and the very basic movements for gymnastics exercises that can be a foundation for more advanced skills later on.  Instructors are sensitive to occasional separation anxiety and encourage parents to help ease the process.

Students entering Kindergarten in the 2020 - 2021 school year will have an opportunity to try a longer, more intensive class that will introduce slightly harder skills and greater challenges than the traditional pre-school classes. These serve as a transition to the regular Recreational Program.

Recreational Gymnastics Classes

There are 4 levels of recreational gymnastics. Each level after beginner has mile stones that need to be achieved in order to move up:
  1. Beginner: Where gymnasts over the age of 6 start to learn how to be gymnasts!
  2. Advanced Beginner: Gymnasts that have learned the basics graduate to this level.  Skills become a bit more challenging and exciting
  3. Intermediate:  This is the last stop on the way to competitive gymnastics.  Intermediates have mastery of basics and are starting to learn higher level skills.
  4. Pre-Team/Xcel: This is the highest level of the recreational program and introduces our students to their first experiences with competitive gymnastics. Students who have qualified for Intermediate classes are invited to try out for the Pre-Team or Xcel Program at any time, subject to Coach's evaluation and approval.

Pre-Team Summer Program

This year's Summer Developmental Program is designed to work in tandem with our morning and afternoon summer camps. Come in the mornings for camps, stay in the afternoon for practices!

Boys and girls Pre-team programs are available to all students who have attended Advanced Beginner levels during the regular school year and for select students in girls and boys beginner and Ninja Zone classes. The Xcel Summer program is also open to girls who have attended Intermediate, Xcel or Pre-Team classes at AAG.

Students in these programs practice up to five days per week and have the option to try out for the Girls Xcel Team, GIJO, or USAG competitive team in the 2020 - 2021 season! Xcel is an "open optional" competition track that encourages gymnasts to develop their skills in a competitive setting and provides a more accessible path to success than the traditional compulsory program.

The Summer Pre-Team Program is based on week-by-week training plan and students are encouraged to attend as many days as possible.
